Cancellation of Student Pass
All full time international students and international exchange students are required to inform DISS on their completion of studies / graduation or when they decide to withdraw from the university.
Full time and exchange international students are required to submit their flight tickets (direct route from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)) to home countries and flight transit within 24 hours in another country) and passports to DISS, for cancellation / to shorten the duration of student pass, 3 - 4 weeks before flight departure, as per the rules set by the Immigration Department of Malaysia. Academic certificate and transcript will only be released to international graduates after the cancellation of student pass.
For international exchange student, in addition to submitting their passports and flight tickets (direct route from KLIA to home countries and flight transit within 24 hours in another country), they are to return to their home countries upon completion of their exchange programme by the end of trimester.
Upon submission of their passports, the international students are prohibited from travelling overseas and to East Malaysia until the date of their return to their home countries. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the international students being denied entry to Malaysia by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
If international students leave Malaysia without proper cancellation of their student pass, the following actions will be taken:
i) A police report will be lodged against the student.
ii) A copy of the lodged police report will be sent to the Immigration Department of Malaysia for enforcement purposes.
iii) A copy of the lodged police report that is acknowledged by the Immigration Department of Malaysia will be sent to the student’s respective Embassy, EMGS, KLIA / KLIA2 and Ministry of Education Malaysia.
